A Question of Motivation

Howdy… it’s great to have you back. The web site is getting more and more popular every week. If you know anyone who might benefit from the information provided here, please send them along to www.clearcutcoaching.com.au.

I have had a few emails recently regarding motivation. Some people are reading the “Thoughts of the Day” and using the information to gain momentum… trying the suggestions and experiencing the results for a few days, but then life slides back to the same old, same old.

Jacqui specifically has written in asking a very insightful question.

“Hey Darrell, great site. I was wondering about motivation. It seems whenever I read something and think that it’s an idea worth putting in to practice, it works well for the first day or two and then I don’t think about it and everything simply vanishes. My question is, ‘Is keeping motivated simply about keeping an idea or goal in your conscious thought?'”

What a top question! Let’s give something a try.

Think of the last time you were really, really motivated. Was it for something you needed to do? Or something that you wanted to attain? Think back to that time and see if you can recall what it was like. Were you living your life in simply day to day mode, or were you thinking a great deal about your goal?

You may well notice that you had your outcome in mind quite a bit. Another example… your last major holiday. How long were you planning for the “trip of a lifetime” or even just a week or two off work? Was the countdown marked on your calendar? I know personally that this certainly was the case.

So why then do we spend more time organising a holiday than we do our lives. Wouldn’t it be cool if you woke up each morning excited because this was the day you were waiting for? And that happened day after day!

6 Tips To Staying Motivated

Download and use the “Steps to a Well Formed Outcome”

Write down what you want to achieve

Think about the day that you do achieve it. What does that look like?

Read your goal, idea, outcome, whatever it is as often as possible (A minimum 5 times a day)

Imagine how it will feel each time you read it

Do something towards it each day

The answer to Jacqui’s question…

Keeping something in your short term memory induces the unconscious to keep an eye out for possibilities to help it come true. Think about it often, make it part of your life, look forward to it’s attainment, stay unwavering to it’s achievement and I will promise you it will come to fruition.

Keep your conscious mind laser-like focussed and you can’t help but achieve it.

Make sure that every day you work towards living your Ultimate Life, and be excited, have fun, get some passion burning in your belly.
